TRADITION AND EXPERIENCE

OUR COFFEE, A FAMILY TRADITION

LO RE is a DAKRI, group trademark, a leading company on the market for over half a century, with the brand “CAFFE’ LO RE”. This brand has a great tradition, founded in 1969 by a roastery opened by Filippo LoRe, who was driven by his huge passion for coffee.
The company philosophy is clear, creating a superior product by using the best origins of coffee suitably roasted and carefully blended.

THE CHOICE OF AND CONTINUOUS SEARCH FOR QUALITY RAW MATERIAL IS THE FIRST SECRET TO A GOOD COFFEE BLEND.

AT EACH SIP

AN EMOTION OF FLAVOUR

THE FLOWER

The coffee flower looks much like jasmine, in both substance and shape. Its corolla is usually made up of 5 petals, which can increase to seven in the hardy variety.
An adult plant can have 30,000 to 40,000 flowers.

THE DRUPES

The coffee cherries, also known as drupes, are ripe once they turn dark red. They mature at different times, and new flowers form each time it rains, with flowers, unripe fruit and red cherries at the same time.

THE BEANS

After harvesting, the shell must be removed from both beans in the drupes. The processes can be: dry, semi-wet and wet and depend on the quality needs. We must distinguish two qualities of coffee, Arabica, which is delicate and soft, and Robusta, which is bitter and sharp.

LOVE FOR COFFEE AND RESPECT FOR THE ENVIRONMENT

Thanks to a collaboration with the Department of Agricultural-Food Technology at the University of Catania and the contribution from the company’s own research and development laboratory, Caffè Lo Re is now able to meet consumer expectations with the creation of new blends.
DAKRI in addition to guaranteeing ever better quality, also focuses on respect for the environment and has developed an integrated quality environmental and safety management system to achieve it, including the standards ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.
